QuickBooks P&L by Day Shows "All Other"? Get Every Daily Column, in Google Sheets

QuickBooks P&L by Day Shows "All Other"? Get Every Daily Column, in Google Sheets

The problem

When I display columns by day for the full year, the report only shows the first stretch of days and lumps everything after into a single "All Other" column. I need every day as its own column.

Set a full-year Profit & Loss to display columns by day and QuickBooks no longer gives you 365 columns. The modern reports show only the first 200 days as their own columns and collapse the rest into a single "All Other" bucket, so the back half of the year is unusable for any day-level analysis.

Why QuickBooks can't do it

This is a hard cap in the modern reporting engine. Where the older report API returned all 365 daily columns for a full year, the new version returns at most 200 columns and categorizes everything beyond that as "Others", and that limit is baked into the customer-facing report, so there is no setting to raise it.

Do it in Google Sheets with Retriever

Retriever isn't bound by that 200-column cap. It pulls every day as its own column into Google Sheets.

  1. Pull the P&L by day into Google Sheets

Use Retriever to bring the Profit & Loss summarized by day for the full year. Every day comes in as its own column, no "All Other" bucket.

  2. Work with the full daily grid

All 365 columns are real data, so you can chart daily trends, spot the exact day something spiked, or roll days up into weeks and months on your own terms.

  3. Trim to the window you care about

Filter or hide columns down to a specific stretch of days when you want a focused view, your choice, not a forced cutoff.

  4. Refresh on a schedule

A scheduled refresh keeps every daily column current, so the full-year view is always up to date.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my QuickBooks P&L by day show an "All Other" column?

The modern reports return at most 200 columns and group everything past that into "All Other," so a full-year daily view drops most days into one bucket. Pulling the report into Google Sheets with Retriever returns every day as its own column.

Can I get all 365 daily columns for the year?

Not in the QuickBooks report itself because of the 200-column cap. Retriever pulls all daily columns into Google Sheets, where you can keep them all or trim to a window.

Does the same cap affect weekly or monthly columns?

It's a column-count limit, so short periods with many day columns hit it first. Weeks and months rarely exceed the cap, but pulling into Sheets removes the ceiling entirely regardless of grouping.
