Change the Company Name Shown on a QuickBooks Report, in Google Sheets
The problem
When having multiple businesses on one QBO subscription, we need to be able to change the name of the company, aka the first line on P&L, BS etc. report. I can change the name of the report, but not the business name.
When you run several businesses on one QuickBooks subscription, the report header shows the subscription's company name, not the specific business the report is for. You can rename the report itself, but not the business name on the top line, so presenting a P&L or Balance Sheet for the right entity means editing it after export.
Why QuickBooks can't do it
The company name on the report header is pulled from the QuickBooks company file and is fixed. The modern reports let you rename the report but not the business name on the first line.
Do it in Google Sheets with Retriever
In Google Sheets, the header is just a cell, so every line of it is yours.
- Pull the report into Google Sheets
Bring the P&L, Balance Sheet, or any report in with Retriever.
- Set the company name, title, and dates
Type the correct business name on the top line, name the report, and set the period label, exactly what should appear for that entity.
- Save it as that entity’s template
Reuse the workbook for that business so the right header is always in place.
- Refresh with the header intact
Scheduled refreshes update the numbers underneath while your header stays exactly as you set it.

Every entity, with the right name on top
Retriever pulls each business into its own Google Sheet where you control the header (company name, title, and dates) and refresh the numbers on a schedule.

Can I change the business name on a QuickBooks report?
Not in QuickBooks. The header company name is fixed. In Google Sheets the header is an editable cell, so you can show any business name, title, or date.
Does this help with multiple businesses on one subscription?
Yes. Keep a workbook per entity with the right company name in the header, and refresh each on a schedule.
